People are really good at talking themselves out of learning new skills. We can procrastinate for years, then discard the prospect as unworthy. The possibility of failure and vulnerability threatens our ego. Requirements trap us before we have a chance to get started. Our emotional mind throws up all kinds of excuses to protect our self-image.
