The first smartphones forced digital designers and developers to consider their interfaces in a responsive context. We created interfaces that could adapt to the device’s inputs and outputs.
Now we live in a world with an increasingly large number of devices to design for, from laptops, to phones, to tablets, watches, televisions, glasses. Each device has a different combination of inputs and outputs, and this makes the challenge of making one interface that will adapt to all devices an increasingly complex and nuanced one.
How do we design for all inputs and outputs? Josh Emerson will explore the various approaches to responsive and adaptive interfaces and try to discover some common principals to successful responsive interfaces.
