We've been giving you 20% off our Practical Guide series all this week and today it's the turn of Donna Spencer's Practical Guide to Information Architecture.

I know I'm not supposed to have favourites, but Donna's book is up there in my top three. It was the first title we published after Designing for the Web when Five Simple Steps was in its infancy. Donna was our first 'external' author and is a pleasure to work with. Moreover, it's simply a great book. From the get-go, Donna's friendly tone of voice and practical style draws you in. You only have to read the one page introduction to feel at ease, and by the end of chapter three you will feel empowered to tackle the IA on your next project. What follows in the rest of the book is everything you need to know to get to grips with IA.

Don't just take my word for it, Donna's book has been praised highly by many. Barnaby Walters recently reviewed the book on Boagworld and said:

"I would especially recommend A Practical Guide to IA to other young or inexperienced web designers. Every project I’ve worked in my freelance career would have been more successful had I read Donna’s book before starting out."

There are also some great reviews on Good Reads and readers have been highlighting and sharing remarks about the book on the social reading app Readmill.

Information Architecture is available in paperback or digital edition with 20% off all day today. If you're missing the green book from your Five Simple Steps book shelf, buy a copy today!
